The MCMA140P1600TA is a 1600 V / 140 A IXYS thyristor module in the TO-240AA-1B isolated package, configured as a phase leg. A thyristor latches on when it is gated and conducts until the current falls below its holding value, so it is used for phase-angle control of AC power, soft-start of motors and transformers, static switches, DC drives and high-power rectification.
